How do I get my website indexed by AI training systems?

Make your site crawlable and discoverable
Most AI systems train on content crawled from the public web. To be included, your site needs to be:
- Publicly accessible (not behind a paywall or login)
- Crawlable by standard web bots (check your robots.txt file doesn't block scrapers)
- Listed in search engine indexes (use Google Search Console to submit your sitemap)
- Well-structured with clear headings, metadata, and internal links
You cannot directly submit your site to most AI training datasets. Instead, focus on being discoverable through normal web channels—Google, Bing, and other sources that feed data to AI builders.
Respect opt-out requests
Many AI companies honor robots.txt rules and allow site owners to request exclusion. If you want your site excluded from specific AI training, check the documentation for individual systems. Some publish contact forms or guidelines for opt-out requests.
Be aware that older training data may already include your content. Opt-out requests typically only affect future training runs, not models already deployed.
